Training - WCAG 2.2. Accessibility of web content for persons with disabilities

Training objective:

The aim of the training is to familiarise participants with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, which are designed to increase the accessibility of web content for people with various disabilities. The training will focus on discussing the latest guidelines and best practices.

Target group:

UX/UI designers, front-end programmers, web developers, testers, IT project managers, individuals responsible for online content and its accessibility.

Module 1: Introduction to digital accessibility (1 hour)

• Definition of digital accessibility
• The importance of accessibility for users and organisations
• Overview of key terms: WCAG, ADA, ARIA
• Law and website accessibility

Module 2: WCAG 2.2 – overview of the most important changes (2 hours)

• History of WCAG (from WCAG 2.0 to 2.2)

• Accessibility testing tools and techniques
• Use of ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications)
• Common mistakes and how to avoid them
• Examples of good and bad practices

Practical exercises:

• Testing website accessibility using tools: Axe, Lighthouse, WAVE
• Analysing HTML, CSS and JavaScript code for accessibility
• Creating visible focus, accessible forms, keyboard navigation

Module 4: Accessibility testing (1 hour)

• Automatic and manual accessibility testing
